Day 9

Since we finished attaching the electrical systems to the Squarebot's structure, we have breathed a sigh of relief.  Finishing the Squarebot means that we will soon start building it... IN REAL LIFE!!  We are also looking forward to starting to code the robot with the cortex controller hopefully later this week.  We will also be helping out other teams as they close in on finishing the squarebot.

Completed Squarebot

We finished our squarebot!

squarebot

Our finished Squarebot structure!  We still have yet to finish putting the "accesories" like wheels, the brain, or the battery for example.

Day 8

We have made great progress with the construction of the squarebot on Solidworks.  After a minor set-back (we messed up on a part of the structure) we managed to solve the problem and are almost complete, we hope to have the squarebot done by today, but if not we are guaranteed to have it done by monday of next week. With the help of our peers we can get it done much faster.

Day 7

Today we are cracking down on the Solidworks squarebot and making sure we don't run into any dead ends like last week.  This week we hope to use our time more efficiently and finish the squarebot.  We also hope to use the help of some of the other teams so we can finish faster, but with great quality.

Day 6

This week we finally found the CAD files for the squarebot.  (They were part of the prototype kit).  We started creating a solidworks assembly with the parts and so far I've been able to complete one rail.  We feel that this week has been a success in jumpstarting our virtual builds so next week should go much faster.

Day 5

This week we aim to make friends with other groups.  Because we are already starting to have trouble finding the CAD files for the VEX parts we will have to team up with other teams in order to finish the Solidworks squarebot on time.  Once we figure out which files have the parts we need, we will start assembling them all in solidworks.
