Today is the first day back from a much needed break. We only wish it could have been longer! We also found out what our next challenge is! it involves tetrahedrons, poles, and creativity!

Day 25

We finished our graded  run and came out with an 80% (which is pretty good considering the circumstances around our robot's behavior).  Now we can relax since all we have to do now is await next week's challenge, whatever it may be.

Day 24

This week we are going to be graded on autonomous so we hope that our robot will be more cooperative.  We have decided on making the robot do wider laps so there's more room for error.  Hopefully we can code enough back-up plans and fail-safes so that even if the robot were to become unpredictable during its final run, it will still complete enough laps to get a good grade.

Day 23

This week has been a rollercoaster with autonomous.  Even though we were able to do 3 laps successfully in the beginning of the week, the robot has been giving us a hard time with each change in the code we make.  First the motors become inverted, then the left motor has too much power, then the right motor has too much power.  It's getting almost impossible to do more than one lap since the robot's behavior changes even when we try to compensate it with the code.

Today we did manage to get our robot to do 3 full laps on autonomous!! Sadly, not many of us were there to witness it and its been difficult to get the hotbot to do it again. Heres a ground view of the hotbox going around the track

Getting down to the small details on the hot bot's approach to the chairs.

Today we are getting down to the small details on the hot bot's approach to the chairs. On the second lap we kept running into a problem with one motor running faster making it run into the chair. We solved the problem we encountered the same problem on the third lap, we are currently finding a better solution to the problem.

Making the robot drive by itself (autonomous).

Continuing what we did all week which was making the robot drive by itself (autonomous). We are still trying to figure out how to do more laps around the chairs without running into them. Also we are donating our precious time to help Opi's Comet.
